The company was founded by Joseph Neal, the grandfather of Directors John and Richard, who was a well-respected entrepreneurial figure in the City of Liverpool at the time.

The business has its head office in Birkenhead with other offices in Liverpool, Chester and Bangor and offers free parking on all its sites. Robinson and Neal have invested heavily in software and IT systems to keep track of stock and offer customers a more comprehensive, flexible and efficient service. New laser technology means that the paint colours can be properly identified, matched and copied if necessary.

The company operates in a highly competitive industry which has meant the family has had to establish a niche for themselves focusing on unbeatable personal service, the ability to source the highest quality and 'difficult to find' products. Sales staff, buyers and directors are always up to date with the latest trends and technical developments as well as being able to predict demands for new products from abroad for example.

Director Richard Neal believes that Robinson and Neal's success has been the result of loyalty, hard work and 100% commitment to the business.
